Volunteer Testimony Jessica White - Manila January 2023

I attended the trip to Manila January 2023 and it was a experience I'll never forget. I found Hair Aid on social media many years ago and never imagined it would be a possibility for me. When I finally took the steps to make it happen everything fell into place (minus the pandemic). God knew the perfect timing for me to travel and he made that happen in his time. The first day of training I was just as scared as the students. That fear melted away so fast and I know I just where I was meant to be. The students I worked with absolutely blew me away with their kindness, compassion and most of all their ability to learn so quickly. To hear some of their stories is absolutely heart breaking. That's why learning a new skill and other forms of education is desperately needed. These students can take their skill of cutting hair and feed their hungry children, get medical care, give back to their community and feel a sense of pride in their accomplishment. The team of Hair Aid volunteers were wonderful and our project leader Krystal was the best!! This was my first trip but definitely not my last.
